Memory of the sabertooth features the lost prehistory from Los Angelas La Brea Tarpits. The animal featured is the famous smilodon fatalis (fleshed out and skeletonized) and a herd of steppe bison for the background (as a cave painting). This artwork can mean several things such as a reflection of our memory, but in all honesty, this reflects extinction and the animal's concept of the past. The steppe bison it once hunted is now only viewed in art and the animal itself can only be interpreted through the bones.
