This is part of my series called Gates to Hell Creeek. Hell Creek is a fossil formation in North Dakota that features some of the most famous dinosaurs (including triceratops, ankylosaurus and tyrannosaurus). In this case, the two animals featured are a young scarred tyrannosaurus (an individual used in many of my other pieces) and an anzu(a larger oviraptorid that was taller than a man). While tyrannosaurus is popular in the media, it was way more complex as a predator. While tyrannosaurus adults hunted prey like edmontosaurus and triceratops, younger tyrannosaurus was far sleeker and capable of hunting faster-moving prey like anzu (promptly filling in the medium-sized predator role).
